    Description

    I am offering for sale a 19th century brass tray with a military scene from the French Revolution.   The engraving shows the son of a fallen soldier standing over his father and swearing revenge amidst a battle.  The legend says, "A child seeing his father fall will avenge him."  It is in very good condition for its age with an age appropriate patina and a few minor spots of missing paper which does not detract from its appearance.  It measures 5 1/2" in diameter and 1" tall.
