On offer is an OOP Denix miniature replica of a Spanish "El Tigre" 32-pounder naval or fortress cannon from 1797.
Has a 12.5" bronze barrel, wood carriage, with cast iron wheels.
Made in Spain.
Measures 13" long overall, 5" high, and 5.75" wide, weighs just over 3 pounds.
The Spanish cast these cannon in several sizes, rated by the weight of the iron cannonballs they fired. There were 12-pounders, 24-pounders, 32-pounders, and 36-pounders.
All 4 sizes were used on Spanish frigates and ships-of-the-line, and the three larger sizes were also used ashore, on fortresses that protected ports and strategic locations all over the Spanish Empire. The British Royal Navy captured significant numbers of these cannon in their wars agains Spain in the 1700s, and used some themselves. They tended to use them on land fortresses like Gibraltar, since the Royal Navy preferred cast iron cannon to bronze ones, as cast iron is significantly lighter and allowed the British to carry more cannon than a similarly-sized Spanish ship.
The last photo is of a full-sized "El Tigre" 32-pounder in a museum in Spain.
