    Description

This beautiful atmospheric photogravure image of a Paiute woman sitting by a thatch house was created by Edward S. Curtis in 1924 and is titled  PAVIOTSO HOUSE AT WALKER LAKE.   Below the image is Curtis's copyright:  From Copyright Photograph 1924 by E.S. Curtis.  The image is produced on the rarest of papers used by Curtis called Japanese tissue paper (Gampi) also known as "India proof paper". The image is 5.5" x 7.25".  It is archivally mounted and matted with a linen faced matte and framed in a dark wood frame with non-glare glass.  The photogravure appears to have been glued at the corners to it backing (not effecting the image).  This appears to have been done long ago and possibly originally.  The overall size of the framed piece is 15" x 17".  The image of the photogravure is in very good condition (I have not examined the piece out of the frame).  We guarantee this to be an original photogravure by Edward S. Curtis.
