    For sale is a beautiful large scale original photographic print from
    circa 1885-1895 showing a Blackfoot (Siksika) camp scene
    near Gleichen in Alberta, then the Northwest Territories. The photo is attributed to
    J.S. Matthews
    .
    A damaged negative of this photo is in the collection of the archives of the city of Vancouver (B.C.) in Canada.
    A print of that damaged negative was part of a brief article in the Whispering Wind Magazine (Vol. 46, No. 3) by Allen Chronister (figure 3 in that article, page 34), where the pictures are dated in the mid-1890s.
    I am offering for sale an original undamaged print of exactly that photograph. According to the information on the back of the photograph it was taken circa 1885 and was remounted in 1969.
    The mount measures circa 11 1/2
    " x 9".
