RARE Choctaw Chief Young EDMUND MCCURTAIN Native American Signed Tintype

Description: Here we have an Amazing and Important Piece to the Choctaw Native American History. I have done a lot of research now and have figured out what this picture is. This picture is of the Former Choctaw Chief, Edmund McCurtain as a Young man. At the age of 19, he enlisted in the Confederate Army and served as a Second Lieutenant under the command of his brother Captain Jackson McCurtain around this time of photo and later became a Choctaw Chief in the 1880’s. He and his family are a large part of Choctaw history. His Signature is written on the side of the picture, at first I could not decipher it, and then I researched a lot and finally figured out who and what it was. This piece came with a few other Choctaw photos and Choctaw Hymnal that all connected and came from same place, in which I will be posting all in seperate listings. I have not figured out who the other two fellows in the picture are, but if you compare Edmund Mccurtains older picture along with this younger picture they have the same facial features, including a larger mole on side of chin, same nose, ears, cheeks, etc. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to own real Choctaw history! This has great subject matter and you just don’t see them like this that often. This Tintype is in nice condition for the age.
